Linda Vance began her professional career as an artist in 1977, after considerable study and painstaking hours of practice. She has achieved success as an artist, a teacher, and business owner and operator. In her forty years as a teacher, Linda has instructed over a thousand children and adults in oil and acrylic painting, painting great emphasis upon drawing, composition, perspective, and color theory. Recognized for her expertise in color theory, Linda has conducted Color Clinics throughout the country, as well as numerous demonstrations and lectures for local artists.

Linda studied art at the Golden Palette Art Studio in Arlington, Texas. She received personal instruction from notable artists such as Daniel Greene in New York, NY where she studied Portraiture; Watercolor under George Shook; Oil and Acrylic Painting with Bea Biagiotti; Diane Wilson of New York, and more Portraiture with John Howard Sandin in both New York and at Lake Como, Italy. Linda’'s work may be found in public and private collections across the United States, England, and Germany.

She is known locally for her portraiture and has been commissioned to paint portraits of such notables as Paul “Bear” Bryant, University of Alabama head football coach. Also noteworthy is Linda’'s completion of study with the AOR-CCA (Association of Restorers) for Oil Painting Conservation and Restoration. Linda is well known as one of country’'s few fine arts restorer for old paintings and photographs, tackling restoration projects that have been turned down by others in the business. Yet she has brought back to life hundred year old paintings with flaking and missing paint, tears and holes in canvas, smoke, water and fire damaged paintings and photos. Needless to say, she loves a good challenge and is an expert in the field. (Taken from "Palette Talk" by Helen Van Wyk, Alabama Magazine)

Join us on the 13th to hear more, directly from Linda Vance herself.
