 he Gardens - a great garden and gift shop!\n\nBeginning March 10\, Aldridg
 e Garden and Gift Shop “Roots” will open its doors to the public. This gar
 den and gift shop is unlike anything we've offered at the Gardens before. 
 Follow the arbor-covered path to the indoor and outdoor display areas show
 casing annuals\, perennials\, shrubs\, pots and containers\, books\, home 
 and garden accessories\, gifts and more. Roots has partnered with area gar
 den retailers Hanna’s Garden Shop and Myers Plants and Pottery\, and  Alab
 ama Environmental Center will educate visitors on rain water recycling thr
 ough the installation of a rain barrel. Roots managers have made a conscio
 us effort to demonstrate the creative use of recyclables.\n\nAnd to help c
 elebrate the grand opening\, more than 100 birdhouses will line the pathwa
 y to the new gift shop. The birdhouse exhibit is a collection of the late 
 Mrs. Edith Emery-Addor\, a bird enthusiast and frequent visitor to the Gar
 dens.\n
