X-WR-CALDESC:The home of Ed and Barbara Randle\, also known as the Hoover-R
andle House\, represents recent Bluff Park history while maintaining conne
ction to the modern city of Hoover.\n\nThe colonial-style house was built
in the 1940s for the family of insurance executive William H. Hoover\, Sr.
In the 1950's\, Hoover bought land near the then-improved four-lane Montg
omery Highway to encourage development in southern Jefferson County. From
there the present-day city evolved. \n \nThe Randles purchased the home in
1987\, and in 1990\, it became the first Hoover structure to be placed on
the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.\n \nJoin us Thursday\, Oc
tober 24 for a special evening with the Randles to learn more about this h
istoric Hoover gem\, stroll through their lovely gardens\, and enjoy a win
e and cheese reception. As always\, the event is free to Propagator Club M
embers\, but we ask that you RSVP so that we may properly plan.
