Instructor Betsy Irwin of Moundville Archaeological Park discusses different types of weaving and basketry found in the Southeast, including natural dyes and the traditional preparation of weaving materials. Students then will have the opportunity to make their very own Cherokee style basket incorporating two different weaving techniques. No two baskets are ever alike! Bring an old towel and wear old clothes because they may get wet.
