Alabama Hydrangea Society Meeting

Location: Aldridge House at the Gardens

David Doggett

The program title is "Go Wild with Hydrangeas" and we will explore the many forms of our most widely dispersed native hydrangea: Hydrangea arborescens - also known as smooth hydrangea or wild hydrangea. We'll look at their landscape function in mass plantings as well as their use in dried flower arrangements. 'Annabelle' is far and away the most widely used variety of smooth hydrangea, but presenter David Doggett will show many of the lesser-known varieties plus new introductions.

Interested in learning more about Hydrangeas and other related gardening topics? We invite you to visit and join the Alabama Hydrangea Society. Meetings take place five times a year at Aldridge Gardens (3530 Lorna Road, Hoover) at 1:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of these months: January, April, June, August, and October. Alabama Hydrangea Society membership is $15 per year for an individual or $25 per couple. Visitors are always welcome to attend. Please join us.

Aldridge Gardens is the perfect setting to inspire one’s learning more about the various types of Hydrangeas.
