Take a trip back in time to rediscover the culture and contributions of Native Alabamians at Whispers From the Past – A Native American Experience.

This will be a great time to bring the family and enjoy a day discovering the culture and contributions of Native Alabamians. See Native American life take shape through demonstrations like flintknapping, pine needle basket weaving, and pow wow dancing, along with activities like leaf pounding, assembling dream catchers, bead weaving on looms, corn grinding, gourd crafting, fishing, and pottery. Children can try their hands at Stick Ball and other games.

Hear the sounds of drums and see the highlight of the day, performances by Native American Pow Wow dancers.

Authentic Native American items will be available for purchase like jewelry, bead work, foods, and crafts.

Admission at the gate will be $15 for visitors 18 and older, and $10 for seniors, veterans, and students. Children younger than 3 have are admitted free. Children’s and students' admission includes take-home crafts, while supplies last. All funds raised by this event will go to continuing education and programs. Aldridge Gardens is a 501-C3 organization.

Please note this is a special event, and we will not offer free admission to the Gardens during Whispers from the Past.
