Dr. Michael W. Meeks has spent more than two years at the helm of Alabama School of Fine Arts. Before being named Executive Director of the institution, he spent more than 10 years as a music educator in the DeKalb County, GA school system, and previously taught at the University of Montevallo. He founded the Cahaba Chorale in Birmingham, the the University of Montevallo Chorus and Birmingham Boys Choir. He holds a degree in music education from Samford University, where he majored in piano and voice, and a doctorate in music education from the University of Alabama.
