Spring is one of our favorite times of the year. Our tour today is all about Hydrangeas. Join Aldridge Gardens as we drive to Boaz, Alabama and visit the original farm of Eddie Aldridge and his cousin, Arthur to learn when to plant, when to prune, why some bear no blooms. All your questions will be answered today on a one-hour guided tour through “Snowflake Nursery” with Martha Aldridge.

What a beautiful morning we’ve enjoyed. We board our motor coach and continue our journey to Albertville and the Jules. J. Berta Vineyards located atop Sand Mountain. The vineyards are five acres of vines on a 22 acre farm. The sandy soil and high elevation create a unique southern climate for growing viniferous grapes. The Berta’s are dedicated to making quality wines from their Alabama estate grown wine grapes. Controlling this aspect of the wine process enables them to ensure quality at each process from vine to bottle. And of course, a visit to a winery would not be complete without tasting the many varieties that the owners Jules & Becky Berta offer.

Time now for lunch at a little treasure call The Lumpkin House. Delicious food in a beautiful setting for a perfect leisurely lunch.

Before we know it, the day is coming to a close. Time now to make our way back to Aldridge Gardens. 5:00 pm-Approximate arrival time back at Aldridge Gardens
