Artist Lillie Harmon

The show will be on exhibit at Aldridge Gardens from May 7th through the end of June.

An artist reception will be held on Monday, May 13th, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the evening.

Artist Statement: "I have been interested in art my entire life. I enjoy creating. When I am painting, I lose all sense of time. Painting for me is exciting yet calming. My body of work represents diverse subjects and varying styles. I am a self-taught artist. I have studied, developed, and learned from many sources. I spend many hours in my studio painting, experimenting, exploring techniques, mediums, and learning from many mistakes.

My paintings progress through a series of sketches which are transferred to canvas, paper, or hard boards. Working mainly with acrylic and oils, I use multi-layered paints and various mediums to create texture and dimension. I create art that inspires and moves me. I especially enjoy creating art about musical greats and just ordinary people, capturing unique qualities about them.

If you stop for a moment to reflect, explore, or express a genuine connection to any of my works, it brings me great joy."

While visiting our gallery, be sure to see our special collection of Frank Fleming bronze sculptures, donated by Hoover resident Ken Jackson.

Please call us (205.739.6558) before visiting the gallery to make sure we are not hosting a luncheon or event during the time you plan to visit. The gallery is normally open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
